Release: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PERFORMANCE - ANA MENDIETA BODY TRACKS 8:30 PM $4 Free to Members On Thursday, April 8, 1982 ANA MENDIETA will perform the NY premier of her piece, BODY TRACKS. This work was originally performed in 1976 at the international Cultureel Centrum in Antwerp, Belgium, and involves white cloths and animal blood. ANA MENDIETA has had performances and exhibitions throughout the U.S., Europe, Central and South America. Writings about her work have appeared in Ms. Magazine, Art in America, Chrysalis, Village Voice, the New York Times, and many other publications. She has received NEA and CAPS grants and in 1980, was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in sculpture. She had a one-woman show at A.I.R. Gallery in November and has a page in the current Franklin Furnace Flue. For further information contact Bill Gordh, Performance Coordinator. |
